Easiest Strawberry Poke Cake Ever…(no it’s not vegan)

Ok so Valentines Day is approaching and no one wants to break the bank. So everyday up until Valentines Day I plan to give you a simple idea or gift for your sweets that won’t break the bank!

Today I’m starting off with a super simple poke cake! This cake is delicious! It’s super basic and anyone, even a non baker can master this!

I’d give you a scratch recipe but instead we can cut to the chase and use a box cake! This ones pretty good!

Grab yourself a box of Better Crocker (pictured above) and follow the directions on the back of the box and bake for about 35 minutes or until your knife comes out clean.

Once your cake is freshly baked and still warm, cut in in half then poke holes in your cake! It doesn’t have to be perfect but make sure you have plenty of holes for you to pour your jello.

Next you want to get a box of Jello! I chose the gelatin free version because I’m not a fan of ground up pork pieces in gelatin.

Pour the entire pack in a bowl and mix and add 1 1/2 cup of hot water. Mix until powder is fully dissolved.

Once the JEL is dissolved set it aside.

Next you want to grab your strawberry’s and chop them up!

Once they’re all chopped up placed them across the top of the cake. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just toss them on.

Once they’re on the cake, pour your liquid JEL over the top of the strawberries. I used about a third of a cup. I didn’t use the entire bowl because I don’t like soggy cake!

Next you want to put some frosting on as well. I put it on the strawberries which was a HUGE mistake so put yours on the other half of cake.

After that, place the cake back together and grab your cool whip.

Make sure your cool whip has been out long enough to be spreadable and soft enough for a smooth finish!

Once you’ve done all theses steps…VOILA! You’re done and you have a sweet treat for your favorite sweet! ❤️

f you try this let me know & tag me on your pic!

Oh & set a candle with it to set the mood. 😉
